PRINCETON, NJ — Almost half of Princeton's residents have now been vaccinated against the coronavirus, but the number is much higher among seniors. On Monday, the New Jersey Department of Health released town-level data on COVID-19 vaccinations. The state's COVID-19 dashboard now reveals the percentage of all people, adults, and seniors who have been partially or fully vaccinated in each city and town. Read More Here: NJ Releases Town-By-Town COVID Vaccine Numbers For Central Jersey According to the data, 47 percent of Princeton's population has been vaccinated. When broken down further to the 18-and-up age group, 55 percent of those residents have been vaccinated. The percentage is higher when it comes to seniors, with 86 percent of residents aged 65-and-older being vaccinated. However, Princeton still has work to do in order to get 70 percent of all adults fully vaccinated, in line with state goals. New Jersey aims to fully vaccinate 70 percent of adults — 4.7 million people — by the end of June. All people 16 and older are eligible for vaccination in New Jersey. Mercer County sites are now offering walk-in appointments for the vaccine. Children ages 12-15 may soon become eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination. On Monday, Gov. Phil Murphy said the state would be ready once the Pfizer vaccine was approved for use by that age group.
