General Contractor is hiring a journeyman level carpenter for major commercial TI, multi-unit/mixed-use capital improvements, and high-end residential renovation projects. JOB DUTIES: -Must read blueprints accurately -Layout and install structural and architectural elements according to approved plans -Rough and Finish carpentry (primary skill set) -Able to cover the driving area of Metro East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, Lafayette, Orinda, Walnut Creek) MUST HAVE SKILLS: -5+ years of carpentry experience, both with wood and metal framing -High-end residential and commercial TI experience; foundation, engineered structural and seismic retrofits -Ability to read blueprints accurately and perform layouts -Reliable and detail-oriented, team player, good communication, work closely with PM/Superintendent -Reliable truck (preferably with rack), with mileage compensation -Tools and PPE commensurate with skill level -Able to lift 50 lbs NICE TO HAVE: -Formal apprenticeship, Construction Sciences AAS or similar education, (not required) -Working knowledge of other major trades, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (recommended) -General knowledge of current code requirements (recommended) JOB DETAILS: -Starting Rate: $35 - $40 p/h -Full time/40 hours -Typical work week M-F 8:00AM - 4:30PM
