IRWINDALE, CA — A brush fire erupted near the Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale scorched 10 acres, but no structures were threatened Wednesday afternoon. The blaze was one of two wildfires that broke out in Los Angeles County Wednesday.
The Santa Fe Fire erupted for unknown reasons in the 15000 block of east Arrow Highway at about 3:30 p.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.

The county fire department also battled a much larger blaze in the Antelope Valley, that scorched more than 160 acres in just three hours, forcing evacuations and destroying at least one structure. That fire, dubbed the Pine Fire, forced mandatory evacuation orders for the areas of Antelope Highway to Pine View Road and Buchanan Road to Smoke Tree Road, according to CalFire.
