SUMMARY: Perform routine maintenance that is essential to the appearance and continuous upkeep of the complex and assigned areas under the direction of facilities management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Clean hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and other work areas. Perform carpet shampoo as scheduled by supervisor. Clean vacant unit apartments, as assigned by supervisor. Responsible for upkeep and control of custodial supplies in assigned closet. Assist with building and grounds maintenance upon request of supervisor. Perform tasks that are required to allow the complex to function on a day‑to‑day basis, emptying wastebaskets, transporting trash and waste to disposal area. Perform exterior grounds cleanup 3 times per week. SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must demonstrate an ability to be trained for the job. 1-year of job experience or the equivalent of experience plus training. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two‑ and three‑syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences with assistance or interpreters. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one‑ or two‑step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
