Zoo Med Labs, Inc. (San Luis Obispo, CA) The number one manufacturer of reptile care products is looking for an enthusiastic person with great customer service skills and knowledge relating to reptiles to join our Customer Service and Animal Care Team. Zoo Med products are sold worldwide and are of the most popular products on the market to care for pet reptiles. Our customers may purchase our products through retailers such as Petco, PetSmart, Independent Pet Retailers, online retailers and more. From our headquarters in San Luis Obispo, we help troubleshoot product issues, provide replacement products through our warranties, and provide product recommendations for animal care based on our experience with our own private collection of animals. In addition to customer service, this position involves helping to care for a private collection of over 700 animals representing over 85 species of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, as well as many freshwater fish. This is a full time position; Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and occasional weekends. GENERAL DUTIES: • Answering Customer phone calls • Responding to Customer Service E-mails • Learning about Zoo Med products to answer questions correctly • Processing warranty replacements • Animal habitat cleaning and maintenance • Assist with daily animal feeding and watering • Work Space maintenance • Assisting other teams (sales, R&D, graphics, etc…) as necessary POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • Excellent communication skills • Ability to write emails professionally, with good grammar and punctuation • Comfortable talking on the phone with customers in a professional manner • Ability to finish projects correctly in a timely fashion • Retail pet store experience (very desirable but not required to apply) • Reliable with strong work ethic • Ability to take and follow directions
