40 hours per week, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Must have reliable transportation and be able to get to work during snow, including on nights and weekends. Primary responsibilities include grounds care, snow removal, painting, changing light bulbs, preparing vacant units for rent, small repairs and overall assisting in the care and upkeep of an elderly apartment complex. Polite manner and clean and professional presentation a must. Strong interpersonal skills including having a helpful and patient nature and the ability to communicate well during an emergency are required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Some knowledge of building systems. Ability to work in hot conditions during the summer. Ability to use ladders safely. Ability to work with tools safely. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of equipment and supplies (about 50 pounds). Repetitive movement is required. High school diploma or equivalent required. At least one-year experience in grounds care and general maintenance required. Experience with the elderly is preferred. Basic electrical, plumbing and/or carpentry knowledge a plus.
