Utility Worker 2-2-3 Schedule (Alternating Weekends Off) Greenfield, MA Day Shift: 6:45a-7:05p Night Shift: 6:45p-7:05a BOTH SHIFTS OPEN JOB DESCRIPTION: Utility workers provide necessary support to the production teams, assist machine operators with assigned tasks, maintain materials and supplies, track inventories, and package finished products. This position receives differential pay. What you'll do: * Operate a forklift truck to safely deliver materials to and from the factory * Read work orders and/or follow oral instructions to determine materials to be mixed for each run * Load /unload materials onto or from pallets, gaylords boxes, and shelves via forklift or by hand * Load resins into blenders, grinders, dryers and hoppers by hand or vacuum system * Maintain and prepare packaging supplies * Package all finished products ensuring correct packaging material, labels and details, per customer specification * Material handling and inventory control using barcode scanner * Assist operators with stringing lines and taking rolls off machines * Assist operators with roll data entry, roll changing, changing trim, mounting unwound rolls, cutovers and cleaning the systems * Assist warehouse manager with monthly inventory * Maintain confidentiality of information such as formulas, supplier names, materials, process conditions and set-up information * Other relevant duties as assigned Utility Workers need to be able to: * read a ruler and understand measurements in fractions and decimals * read, write and comprehend instructions and correspondence * communicate effectively with workers and supervisor * add, subtract, divide and multiply with the aid of a calculator * perform calculations that include but are not limited to fractions and decimals * use a computer for basic data entry of production and materials in database * work overtime if required to meet business demand Education, Licenses, Certifications: * High School Diploma or GED, preferred Experience: * Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience, preferred
