Worcester Academy Broadcasting Camp
Broadcasting Camp is a hands-on opportunity for students to gain a better understanding of the media and technology that influence our society. Participants will learn how to use and create content for various forms of broadcast media. Using provided iPads, laptops, cameras, microphones, a green screen and other tools and software, students will create content for the purpose of developing a newscast/magazine show. Students will also have the opportunity to learn basic editing concepts.
Aspects of the program include:
Learning Editing skills through use of Adobe Premiere Pro
Developing camera skills – wide, medium, tight, focal development
Learning interviewing techniques – two camera, one camera, shotgun
Developing Story Ideas – WALLDO, sequencing, character development
Learning broadcast programs – wirecast, adobe premiere, youtube, facebook
Understanding jobs that create broadcasts and shows – directing, producing, editing, board operation
Creating live television/newscast broadcast
