Looking for entry level worker for high-end Finish Shop in Monroe to sand and stage products to prep for finishing. We finish various types of wood for residential and commercial clients. We will train - 40 hours per week - benefits offered following a probation period. Must be able to pass a drug test. Must be highly motivated, eager to work. Great team environment. Job Description: Material Prep/Sander at R. Gleason Painting and Decorating Co, Inc. This position requires staging and prepping materials for finishing. Duties and Responsibilities • Maintain a clean workspace • Move product around shop • Sand materials by hand as well as a power sander • Wash and clean product with acetone, MEK, etc. • Pack/unpack materials for shipping and receiving • General shop clean up, taking out trash, sweeping etc. • Track time for each job Skills and Abilities • Ability to follow directions for staging and sanding products • Adaptability with tasks to do all necessary to support the process of completing jobs on time • Trainable and positive attitude toward learning new skills • Displays an overall positive attitude • Maintain professional conduct: arrive on time, use break times/lunch times appropriately, document time card and travelers clearly Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the production manager may be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk around shop floor and up and down stairs, use hands to feel the surface of the product for desired quality. The employee will occasionally be required to climb ladders, sit, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and may be required to wear a respirator. In addition, ear protection may be required when using power sanders or other equipment in the facility. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of computer skills. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED. Please include resume with reply.
