Shipping/Receiving Manager

Description

Responsible for conveying and handling materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas by hand, hand truck, or forklift in observance of all standard safety practices while efficiently performing essential functions. Requires knowledge of established shipping and receiving procedures for bulk, truckload, LTL, UPS, Fed EX, etc. Job Responsibilities: • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, bins or assigned area according to a predetermined sequence. • Marks materials with identifying information. • Opens bales, crates, and other containers, using hand tools. • Loads and unloads trucks. • Counts, packs, marks, weighs, and stages for outbound shipment. Prepares outbound freight with correct labels and markings to meet applicable regulations. • Compares incoming shipments to receiving documents to assure all items received. • Prepares bill of ladings, shipping documents and all other pertinent documents to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. • Observes all standard safety practices while efficiently performing essential functions • Operates up to 5 ton forklifts and can operate a stand up forklift. • Assists in the preventative and daily maintenance of all equipment used. • Performs other similar or related work as assigned. Physical demands: • Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 lbs. and climb a ladder with ease. Specific qualifications in this role will include: Education/Experience: o Must have a class C license. o Must have previous management experience in a distribution warehouse environment. o Must have intermediate knowledge in computers o Willing to assume a variety of tasks to keep the warehouse function o Good verbal communication skills are necessary o Attention to detail & organization skill is required o Ability to take initiative and work independently Please submit your resume to be considered.
