Job Description Painter DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time, production worker position. Individuals must complete a general training regimen as imposed by South-West Division, along with becoming familiar with painting equipment operated by the division. Competence with painting equipment, identification of painting requirements, and efficiency with paint usage are key characteristics to being an effective painter. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS TO BE PERFORMED: The precise combination of job tasks will vary depending on the Company’s production requirements and the specific instructions given by the shop supervision. Regardless of shift assignment, Painters must be able to perform the following tasks: • Run overhead crane system to handle beams, angles, plates and assemblies, and do so whilst being aware of finishes to minimize touch up. • Able to mix paint correctly, and operate spray gun system efficiently. • Identify painting requirements on various materials; efficiently using blueprints to identify specific requirements on a piece-by-piece basis. • Perform production area cleaning tasks and assist in maintenance of paint equipment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Individuals must have adequate strength (ability to lift fifty pounds), mobility, dexterity, vision, hearing and stamina. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Individual should preferably have a high school education and be able to follow instructions well and work without constant supervision.
