Abandoning your dog

Good morning. I watched a show last week where people are abandoning their dogs that they adopted for company while being on lockdown. Now no longer needed, they are dropping the dogs off and driving away, My rescue was killed by a car on RT. 52 6 months ago. He was a pit/Akita/Shepard mix and I miss him every day. If you're planning on "getting rid" of your family dog by letting him out of your car and driving away, drive a few more miles to a no-kill shelter or contact me. These poor dogs have no idea why one day you were playing ball with him and the next day he's cowering next to a dumpster somewhere. Please don't do this people, call me and I will either keep him or bring him to a no-kill shelter. Thank you, Bill and the late Sampson.
