Looking for a small dog

My family just received news that my father's pomeranian doesn't have very long remaining. I'm looking to find him another best friend to help with the loss. I'm willing to pay a small rehoming fee. He prefers male dogs and it can't be anything with real long hair. Preferably under 20 lbs fully grown. I'm hoping for something 1 to 3 years old. Please no Chihuahuas. Let me know if you might have one in mind.
