Description
Looking to improve your run game? How about decrease the risk of injury? Then our small group running mechanics seminar is for YOU! This course is design for those who want to improve their running game or those who want to start running and want to avoid injury. We will be covering the basics of the running gait cycle, what muscles are activated during each phase of running and proper biomechanics to consider when running. During our 4 hour seminar, we will be taking a hands on approach as we go through a variety of tests to evaluate where you are and how you can improve. From these tests, we will prescribe the right exercises for you and elevate your run game all while preventing injury! When: Saturday June 16th 2021 Time: 8am-12pm Where: Momentum Rehab room What to wear: athletic clothing, running shoes. (*masks will be worn the entire duration of the seminar) What we'll provide: -elastic mini bands for home rehab -lacrosse ball for self muscle release pre/post run -presentation notes -water + light snacks We’ll be working through a series of mobility tests that will highlight any weakness in your movement chain, as well as uncover any asymmetrical and compensatory patterns that may lead to an altered running cycle. This course will be done in a test, retest format. This means that each person will establish a baseline mobility assessment, then we will go through corrective exercises and re-test at the end to measure improvement. At the end of the seminar you will have a solid foundation of what components make up the running gait cycle, be able to identity through mobility testing what areas you can improve upon, and at home exercises specific to you and your weaknesses. Safety is at the forefront of our mind, so this course will be limited to 5 participants on first come first served basis for signup. Only those registered through eventbrite will be able to take the course as we want to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
