Please join us for an educational and interactive 4 hour CEU workshop on treatment of grief due to pregnancy and infant loss. ***Socially distanced and outdoor event*** We invite you to join us for an in person outdoor workshop on the treatment of grief due to pregnancy and infant loss. The session is worth 4 CEUs and is currently pending approval with the LPC/LMFT board. Cost is $50 for workshop. Pre-registration is required. Refreshments will be provided. To ensure the safety of all participants, we require wearing a mask until seated. Event participants will assume all risk involved with attending event. Learning Objectives: 1) Learn the prevalence of pregnancy and infant loss and associated grief/emotional reactions 2) Learn about grief theory regarding infant and pregnancy loss 3) Learn skills to further clinical practice in the treatment in grief in pregnancy and infant loss. Presenter Bios: Christian Morgan, MA, LMFT-S Christian has a passion for people’s stories. Christian earned two degrees from Oral Roberts University in Psychology and Marital and Family Therapy. She went on to earn her License in Marital and Family Therapy (LMFT). She has been a counselor for over a decade and has worked in the community mental health, inpatient and small practice settings. As an LMFT, she has had special training and experience in working with couples and families. Christian’s story has led her to specialize in helping people heal after loss. She previously worked at The Grief Center in Tulsa, OK where she counseled individuals, families and groups who experienced a loss. She is currently working toward becoming certified in Thanatology (death, dying and bereavement). Summer Wyers, MS, LPC Summer began her education at Oklahoma State University as a Marketing major then graduated from Mid American Christian University with a master’s degree in Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. Summer went on to become the Admissions Coordinator for a prominent facility for eating disorders as well as gaining experience in outpatient private practice, and community mental health. She now works in private practice, specializing in the treatment of adolescent and women's issues. With over a decade of experience, she has focused her training and experience in the areas of perinatal (pregnancy) and postpartum mood and adjustment disorders (postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD/ Birth Trauma), family conflict, development of coping skills, communication skills, expressive arts, couples/ marital counseling, and eating disorders. In addition to her work as a therapist, Summer works in Operations Management and Human Resources, advocating for women and minorities in business. In 2020, she obtained an MBA from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
