Queer Studies: Creating Queer Space

Meets

41 Dubois Street, Roxbury MA

Description

Does a queer community exist in 2021? How do we connect to it, or do we create it as we need it to be? What is its nature, its structure, its purpose? What are its realities and possibilities? Do we need to agree on these foundational principles? Are we able to join together as queer individuals to apply working principles of Intersectionality, mutual support and critical lenses of queerness and transness to individual, local, national and global problems of work, social fragmentation, sustainability and fairness from social justice equity and natural resource management to the need to challenge the heteronormative status quo? These and other topics will be discussed in a webinar hosted by Cindy Smith, MA and Jennifer Cole, PhD of the Liberal Arts Department of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, featuring a panel of invited guests. Audience involvement will be welcomed following initial panel presentations and discussion. *Queer = lgbtqai+ for the purposes of the webinar and this announcement. https://fb.me/e/4dAJ1HdI4
