This set sequence honors 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. In line with tradition, postures are held for a set period of time. Postures are taught one after the other without a transition or "vinyasa" which distinctly separates this class from a vinyasa flow. The first part of class consists of standing and standing balancing poses. The second part of class takes place with floor postures. This challenging set of postures will strengthen your body and mind.
At Shanti Hot Yoga we offer students 2 blocks and a strap to help further support your alignment and prevent injury.
In this challenging class we offer you to take a break whenever you need one. This practice is meant to be practiced often and the demanding poses expect you're doing so. If possible, arrive to the studio early to stretch your hamstrings, hip flexors, spine, and shoulders on your own before class.
This mindful, contemporary take is meant to bring students a strong foundation to cultivate Sthira (Steadiness), Sukha (Ease), and Shanti (Peace).
