Description
The Town of Sharon seeks qualified applicants for two (2) full-time (37.5 hours/week; M-W 8:30am-5:00pm; Th 8:30am-8:00pm; F 8:30am-12:30pm) Senior Clerk positions in the Assessor’s Office.
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following: Accurately enter building permits into CAMA software system; prepare property abutters lists to be certified by Assessor; process motor vehicle excise abatements and enter into financial software; provide customer service to residents by phone, email and in-person; prepare office mailings for statutory exemptions, agricultural land verification, income & expense and personal property forms of list; review recorded deeds and plans and accurately update ownership into CAMA software; process statutory exemptions for veterans, elderly, disabled, etc.; update information on property record cards including legal information and building sketch updates; prepare department payroll; and calculate real estate and personal property abatements and enter into financial software.
Qualifications and experience: Minimum high school diploma with a minimum1-3 years’ office administration experience; municipal experience preferred. General knowledge of property appraisal principles and practices, including MA property tax laws highly desirable. Attention to detail and highly accurate data entry and record keeping skills a must.
Starting Salary: $45,735 - $53,700, depending on qualifications and experience; range will increase to $46,420 - $54,510 on 7/1/21
