Diabetes Workshop is education designed for school nurses to discuss diabetes physiology, symptoms, and management. This workshop is to inform school nurses how to assess and manage children with diabetes. After course completion, attendees will be able to: 1. Have increased confidence in the day to day use and troubleshooting of up-to-date technologies for children and teens with TIDM including continuous glucose monitors, smart insulin pens and insulin pumps in the school setting 2. Be able to report developmental task appropriateness for children and teens with T1DM 3. Be able to recognize signs of illness and follow basic sick day guidelines for the child or teen with T1DM 4. Be able to report proper treatment of hypo and hyperglycemia in the child/teen with T1DM in the school setting, during field trips or sports events. 5. Will report an increased level of understanding basic T1DM physiology, carb counting, treatment options and goals.
