The Stage Will Be Set for Karaoke On the Nose of An Airplane with Kennesaw Mountain in the Background We are going to be commemorating the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 in a special way. At Cobb International Airport we will be holding Airaoke! A local karaoke contest. Sponsored by Charlie's Angels Movers. Proceeds benefit the Cobb County Firefighters (via the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund). On 9/11 at 5:00, Bert Brown of Governor's Gun Club will sing the National Anthem and then the singing will begin. The format will be like The Price is Right. We will call 10 singers an hour to perform. In the 9:00 hour, we will bring back 4 of the 40 singers for the finals. While votes are being tabulated, we will have a moment of silence and possibly sing God Bless the USA. The winner of the contest will receive $1000.00 in cash and a $500.00 silver platter with their name on it provided by the Jewelsmith of the Avenues West Cobb. Judges include Mayor Easterling of Kennesaw,Jillian Abbott of the Marietta Daily Journal, Joyette Holmes & Angie Blank. The audience will also be able to vote via phone. Only 40 singers will be chosen from all applicants. Silent Auction and door prizes will also be included in the commeration.
