The victim believed she had left the vehicle unlocked; there was no sign of forced entry or damage. 05/09/202117:36 INCIDENT 21003081 CREDIT CARD FRAUD UNDER $1200 C266 S37B(G) COGSWELL AVE Cambridge Police received a phone call from a resident of Cogswell Avenue reporting identity fraud and fraudulent credit card purchases. According to the reporting party/victim, an unknown suspect used their credit card to purchase $1,059.32 worth of merchandise from a video game store. 05/09/202118:17 ARREST 21003082 WARRANT ARREST REPORT MASSACHUSETTS AVE Matthew Weston, 32, homeless in Cambridge, was placed under arrest for warrants out of Cambridge District Court for Breaking and Entering Nighttime for a Felony and Vandalizing Property. 05/08/202109:56 INCIDENT 21003051 B&E MV IN DAYTIME OR NIGHTTIME FOR MISDEMEANOR C26 MCLEAN PL A resident of McLean Place reports his motor vehicles were entered via unknown means sometime between 7:30 p.m. on May 7, 2021 and 10 a.m. on May 8, 2021, while they were parked in the rear of his residence. Subsequently, Habtamu Mesene, 18, homeless in Cambridge, was placed under arrest after he was observed by officers swinging a knife at three other males and trying to instigate a fight with them. Upon arrival, the male party in question had already fled the scene. Upon a brief search of the area, the party in question was located with the merchandise still in hand. After a brief investigation it was concluded that William Nelson, 56, 85 East Newton Street in Boston, currently had an active warrant out of Brookline District Court for Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise. Nelson was placed under arrest for the active warrant and transported to the station in normal fashion for processing. The merchandise in question was returned to the department store; no additional charges are being filed at this time. 05/07/202116:38 INCIDENT 21003043 IDENTITY FRAUD SEVENTH ST A Seventh Street resident had his identity stolen and used for different accounts. 05/07/202117:22 INCIDENT 21003044 MISC. REPORT TYPE SPRING ST A Spring Street resident contacted the Cambridge Police Department to report he had been receiving letters in his mail box regarding politics. 05/07/202117:35 INCIDENT 21003045 MISC. REPORT TYPE CONCORD AVE ECC dispatched CPD to the area of Concord Ave for reports of a possible larceny. 05/07/202119:13 INCIDENT 21003046 UNFOUNDED REPORT MASSACHUSETTS AVE A Brookline resident was pick-pocketed while in Central Square. 05/07/202120:38 INCIDENT 21003047 MISC. REPORT TYPE RICHDALE AVE ECC dispatched CPD to the area of Upland Road for a disturbance. 05/07/202121:48 INCIDENT 21003049 WARRANT ARREST REPORT GREEN ST Cambridge Police arrested Mathew McFarland, 34, homeless of Cambridge, for a warrant out of Cambridge District Court for Receiving Stolen Property Less than $1,200. McFarland was stopped and identified in the vicinity of Central Square. Shortly thereafter, it was confirmed that McFarland had an outstanding warrant out of Cambridge District Court. Officers located the following on McFarland's person: two clear plastic bags containing a white crystal-like substance (suspected methamphetamine), a white folded paper containing a brown powder-like substance (suspected fentanyl). Additionally, the following items were discovered inside of McFarland's backpack: a large clear plastic bag containing multiple clear plastic baggies, a clear plastic bag containing multiple brown rubber bands, and a blue metallic vial containing a white elongated pill (suspected Xanax) and a pink round pill (suspected Adderall). He was summonsed for the following: Possession of Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Class A Substance, and two counts of Possession of Class E Substance.
