Hi! My name is Ethan Duran and I am the new reporter/editor covering Whitefish Bay, Oak Creek, Franklin, Greenfield and Mt. Pleasant. I'm happy to report and investigate on issues in these suburban communities. You can keep in touch with me through [email protected]. I was born and raised in Milwaukee and have lived there all my life - I even earned my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee with a history minor on the side. I've written for the school paper there, the UWM Post and enjoy all sorts of independent media. Many of my bylines are with Milwaukee urban blogs or alternative weekly newspapers and I enjoy blogging and weekly culture immensely. I will be covering all types of local news but I also hope to bring things like local business, arts programs and homegrown musicians into the spotlight while reporting here. When I'm not at at my desk writing and reporting, I'll probably be immersed in some kind of web documentary, collecting records or enjoying a beer at one of the bars I regular at.
