Description
Hi!
My name is John Quinnies. I'm one of the new Wisconsin Field Editors here at Patch. I'm excited to start covering the community I call home. I'll be mostly focused on covering the northern and southern Milwaukee suburbs.
I'm a fresh UWM grad, originally hailing from the North Shore of Milwaukee, but I've spent time all across the region. I take great pride in the diversity and community I've found in our small corner of Lake Michigan.
Before coming to Patch, I covered various happenings around Milwaukee for my university news site. I like to take deep dives into the issues that will define our city for years to come.
The little things capture my attention, too. The overlooked parts of Wisconsin often tell grander stories than meets the eye. These stories would be nothing without the people behind them, though.
That's why I'm eager to dig back into my Wisconsin roots. I've been capturing stories about this place for a few years now, but they can only improve with each new voice from you and every other community member. Let's get in touch!
Another great passion of mine is photography. When I'm not working on written articles, you can probably find me journeying across Wisconsin with a camera in hand. Some photographers I dearly look up to are Dorothea Lange and Walker Evans.
Beyond any writing or photography, I love to get outdoors. It really is the one thing that recharges me. Wisconsin has no shortage of great campsites and hikes, too.
Don't hesitate to reach out. Whether it's story ideas, community concerns, questions, or just a chat, my lines are open.
