We are excited to announce the ArtStART 2021 Exhibit at Art Trax Gallery in FATVillage!
Ten emerging teenage artists will showcase their art during the FATVillage Artwalk in May, thanks to ArtStART, a professional development program created by local ceramic artist Cheryl Brown. Ms. Brown is an artist and activist committed to shaping the culture of her local community. ArtStART helps secure the continued growth of local arts.
The 10 ArtStART artists are Iana Agapova, Andrea Duarte, Gregory Glozman, Lewis James, Isabella Marie, Aliyah Matthews, Adrian Monterossa, Jahnia Pascal, Jennifer Turner, and Vashia Williams.
Each artist attends the Dillard High School Center for the Arts and Emerging Computer Technology county-wide magnet program. Dillard High School is a Broward County public school located near downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Through ArtStART workshops, the young artists learned how to create artist documents, make art presentations, put together an art exhibit, and curate an art exhibit with multiple artists.
Funding for this project is provided in part by the Broward County Board of Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council. ArtStART 2021 is a collaboration with Broward Schools and supported by ArtServe, Art Trax Studios & Gallery, FATVillage, and local artists, Francisco Sheuat, Lisa Rockford, and Galen Todd.
For the safety of the artists and visitors, the ArtStART 2021 Exhibit will follow recommended safety protocols, including masks and social distancing. Art Trax Gallery & Studios will be open at limited capacity.
