STAMFORD, CT—Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday night near the Ludlow Townhouse complexes in the South End of the city, which injured two Stamford residents. Officers responded to reports of shots fired shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday at 59-2 Ludlow St. A 23-year-old woman was discovered with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm. She was transported to Stamford Hospital for treatment. A second victim, a 38-year-old Stamford man, drove himself to the hospital with an upper-arm gunshot wound. As of Monday morning, Capt. Richard Conklin of the Stamford Police Department said the man remained at the hospital undergoing surgeries. A 9 mm handgun was recovered from the man's vehicle, police said, adding that it's unclear who fired the weapon. "This is very much an ongoing investigation. Numerous shots were fired and casings were recovered at the scene. We have forensics units and investigators in uniform out there," Conklin said, adding that they plan on speaking with "a number of witnesses." Anyone with information is asked to contact the Stamford Police Detective Bureau at 203-977-4417.
