Outdoor Informal Portrait Photography with George Wilson Saturday, June 19, 2021 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Instructor: George Wilson In this short workshop the skills acquired in the Introduction to Informal Portrait Photography for the basis for understanding as we delve deeper into light and the qualities of light. Consideration is given to the intangible issues of making portraits such as: Who is this picture for? What are the expectations? What is hoped for? What is feared? Practical picture making concerns are also addressed such as: How much time do we have to shoot? Where will we work? The use of modifiers and reflectors will be explained and demonstrated as the students work towards capturing the compelling portrait. As in Introduction to Informal Portrait Photography, this class will use a live model. This course is meant as a follow up class to Introduction to Informal Portrait Photography and is designed for the photographer with a good understanding of Aperture Priority and Manual Exposure Modes. George Wilson is a Pulitzer sponsored professional photographer with a career spanning over 35 years in both editorial and commercial photography. He is also a National Geographic Certified Educator, National Geographic Certified in Photography Storytelling in the Classroom and for Developing a National Geographic Explorer Mindset among Learners. George been published on both a national and an international basis with numerous photographs held in both public and private collections. When not behind the lens, he can be found teaching numerous classes and workshops throughout Florida. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request. Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit.
