BALLSTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested 27-year-old Delonte Hall of Alexandria in connection with a carjacking and abduction that occurred early Tuesday morning in the Ballston area, according to a police release. Officers were dispatched around 7 a.m., for the report of an armed robbery in the 900 block of N. Stafford Street. Police learned that a ride-share driver had stopped for a fare and Hall entered the vehicle along with the passenger. Realizing that Hall was not a passenger, the driver asked him to leave. In response, police say Hall produced a knife and demanded the driver hand over the vehicle. Once the driver exited the vehicle, Hall drove off with the passenger inside. The officers located the vehicle traveling near Washington Boulevard at N. Pershing Drive, where they began a pursuit. With the help of the Virginia State Police, the vehicle was stopped at the intersection of S. Glebe Road and Meade Street. Police took Hall into custody and the passenger was uninjured. After being charged with carjacking and abduction, Hall was held without bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility. This case remains under investigation. Police ask anyone with information about this incident to contact the Homicide/Robbery Unit at 703-228-4180 or [email protected].
