2 People Charged With Drunk Driving: Oakland Police Activity

OAKLAND, NJ — Two people were charged with driving under the influence and another two were arrested for having one or more active warrants, according to police. Here is a report of Oakland police activity from the last few days: On April 30: A suspicious car was parked after hours in the NJ State Park parking lot along Skyline Drive. A 32-year-old resident of Pompton Lakes was arrested for driving under the influence. He was taken into custody and later released to an acquaintance, with a court date set to later appear in the Oakland Municipal Court. On May 3: During a traffic stop, a 28-year-old Oakland resident was arrested for an active warrant issued out of the Franklin Lakes Municipal Court. He was able to post bail on the scene and was subsequently released. A summons was also issued for driving with a suspended driver's license. On May 8: During a welfare check at the Ponds Reformed Church, it was determined that a 47-year-old Franklin Lakes man was impaired after having alcohol and was arrested for driving under the influence. He was taken into custody, processed, and later released into the custody of a family member. On May 10: A traffic stop at Allerman Road resulted in the arrest of a Garwood resident for multiple active warrants issued out of the Midland Park, Lyndhurst, and Wyckoff Municipal Courts. The 44-year-old man was taken into custody, processed, and later released on bail.
