Person Dies In Fatal Crash Near Travis/Caldwell County Lines

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — A person is dead after a fatal pedestrian crash near the Travis and Caldwell County lines Monday morning, the Travis County Sheriff's Office said. Police were called to the intersection of U.S. Highway 183 and Camino Real (State Highway 21) around 6 a.m. Monday for a person struck by a vehicle, authorities said. Roads were closed for more than two hours and were reopened around 8:15 a.m., the sheriff's office said. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office helped with traffic control in the area while crews worked at the scene, officials said. The identity of the person has yet to be released.
