AUSTIN, TX — A 3-year-old boy who died after being struck by a car in a Southwest Austin parking lot has been identified, Austin police said. Shreyansh Pasala died Saturday after he was struck by a car in a parking lot in the 4400 block of W. William Cannon Drive around 6:40 p.m. The toddler was taken to Dell Children's Medical Center where he died about an hour later, officials said. The driver of the car remained on scene and is cooperating with police. This is Austin's 37th fatal traffic crash of 2021, resulting in 39 fatalities for the year, authorities said. On the date of this crash in 2020, there were 32 fatal crashes resulting in 34 fatalities.
