Description
Panel fabrication shop is looking for an entry level candidate to join our long standing team of highly qualified individuals. This is a great opportunity to start or continue a career in an environment rich with learning opportunities and continuing education. We are willing to train an individual eager to start in the trades. Please note that this is not a repetitive assembly job. This position requires the use of layout drawings and electrical schematics to assemble and wire custom electrical control panels. This position requires innate curiosity in how things work electrically and mechanically. Each assembly is custom, and requires a sharp eye for safety and quality. It also requires the ability to plan tasks and follow through in a logical order. Responsibilities: Work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet customer demands Understand electrical circuits and panel building processes Understand the components and design layout of panels Ability to read and understand extensive blue prints Ability to make templates for larger scale products and replicate processes Pull wires and create layouts Mechanical aptitude for drilling, tapping, cutting sheet metal Ability to use assembly tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, punches, cordless tools, saws Ability to convert 2D drawing into layout on door or subpanel of control panel Dedication to quality and safety and detail Ability to document any changes to design with electrical notations and written descriptions Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent 0-2 years of related experience and/or training OSHA 30 preferred (will train OSHA 30 if necessary) Must provide own hand tools This is a Union position; Membership of the Local 494 will be required Positive safety attitude and personal integrity are a must – both are non-negotiable Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to operate a forklift is preferred
