How do you ask out a Barista?

There’s a Barista that I’ve had a crush on for a while now. We have small talk every time I’m in the shop and they seem interested and they perk up when I walk in the door..... I’m not scared to ask them out. However, with the way everything is set up there’s always a huge line of people and whatever conversation we have is on display for everyone in line and I can’t just sit and chat at this particular place...... the last thing I want to do is embarrass them. My question is, what is appropriate? Should I just drop it? I don’t want to miss out on something great.... but I also want to be respectful.
