Description
*******MISSING BIRD******* ****ORIGINAL POST**** 18-year-old White Eyed Conure Mini Parrot, named “Alex”. Went Missing on Sunday May 9th at approximately 2:30 PM PST, near Thrashers Corner in Bothell, Washington. Purple breeder bracelet on left leg. Feathers are mostly green with some red patches. Has been plucking his body recently on back and sides (not down to skin), so back is bare down to fresh down. Chest has feathers, but down poking through due to plucking. Wings are not clipped. Does not usually have exposure to the outdoors—he is an inside bird. Bird was startled and flew away. May be enticed by apples (his favorite food); also likes bread and other fruits/veggies. Is also drawn to human food. Noises (especially loud noises) scare him, but may come to anyone who offers food. Responds to his name “Alex” if called (not too loudly). UPDATE: Tues 05/11/2021 @ 1320 - there as been no contact or talking from Alex since yesterday morning around 0700 PST. I am overly stressed and the fear is ramping up. I have messaged with a few individuals who have shared my post with other groups and found a lot of visitors to this post are sharing as well. I can not thank everyone enough for the shares, prayers, and support! It is so greatly appreciated! If there are any more ideas or suggestions of things I can do, groups I can contact, I do take them all to heart and will do anything to bring my fid home, please share. Again, thank you all for your help and support! UPDATE: Mon 05/10/2021 @ 1951 - after Alex flew away from the tree he was in early this morning, there has been no further contact or location. It has been an extremely stressful and trying day for my bird and me. If someone out there has found him or knows anyone who might have, please be true and genuine and contact me via this post or my contact info below. He is a wonderful bird and my one true companion. I am stressing how alone and scared he must be and no food or water, please be kind to him and to help reunite us. Thank you with all my heart and tears to everyone who has offered encouragement, shared, commented, it is greatly appreciated! UPDATE: Mon 05/10/2021 @ 0825 - Thank you to everyone who has responded, provided encouragement, and help. It has been recommended the most to put his cage outside with food and water. I have put that suggestion in motion. His cage is outside with his food, water, and favorite snack (apples). I was outside again @ 0500, and shortly after, he started calling out again. I continued to talk to him and tried to get him to come to me, but no success. @ around 0715, he flew out of the tree and out of sight, within secs of him taking flight, I heard him let out a really loud cry of fright along with another bird, it seemed to come from the nearby neighborhood. I have spent this time in both areas calling out but he is not responding and definitely not talking. I now don’t know where he is. I am vigilant in staying outside and monitoring those areas he has been in, hoping he returns. Please, please keep an eye and ear out. If someone should catch wind or have any formation, please contact me any time day or night. Thank all so much for help and prayers! UPDATE: Sun 05/09/2021 @ 2042 - Alex has stayed in the neighborhood flying from tree to tree. He has been calling out and I am responding, but he is not coming to me. Sun 05/09/2021 @ 2312 I have stayed outside within the area where Alex is located. He called out continually until it was completely dark. I attempted to get him to come down the entire time, but was unsuccessful. I have stayed outside now since then, but know there is nothing more I can do until morning. Please, if anyone (owner, breeder, avian vet or expert) has any suggestions, please share. He is right there but out of reach. Thank you to everyone who has shared and helped, it is greatly appreciated!
