LEMONT, — The Forge: Lemont Quarries has installed new adaptive technology which accommodates people with disabilities and allows the Eight Towers Adventure course to be accessible to all, the business said in a release. The first level of one of the towers has had a system of cantilever arms installed, which allows all guests to interact with the ropes course elements. The business said the East X tower also allows for guests to be elevated to the top of the tower, and transferred to a zip line where they can fly over the quarry. "Accessibility has always been at the forefront of The Forge's design, accommodating those who are visually or hearing impaired, have physical limitations, or sensory issues," the business said in a release. The park's single kayaks and canoes are also equipped with specialized seats and has a dock which allows the transfer of people, who may have assistive devices, to the water. The park also offers recumbent trikes for guests who may be unable to ride traditional bikes. The Forge has a full line-up of summer events planned, as the park prepares to be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Memorial Day to September. Summer events include: Karaoke at The Mount, Trivia at The Foundry, Yoga at The Mount, music and movies in the park, mountain biking courses, Forgefire adventure dining and quarry camps. You can find more information about the park and its events on its website.
