Shooting Triggers Utah Street Elementary School Lockdown

LOS ANGELES, CA — Utah Street Elementary School and Mendez Learning Center in East Los Angeles were placed on lockdown due to a possible shooting in the area Tuesday afternoon., according to Los Angeles School Police. Students at Utah Elementary School on Gabriel Garcia Marquez Street will be released on a modified schedule while being escorted from the school auditorium by police. Mendez Learning Center, on the other hand, will remain on lockdown, according to Los Angeles School Police.
