BERKELEY, CA — Authorities are investigating two separate reports of gunfire incidents last week, neither of which resulted in any known injuries, the Berkeley Police Department said. Officers on Thursday at around 7:50 a.m. responded to a report of a disturbance at an encampment in the area of Durant Avenue and Milvia Street, but people in the area said a dispute had been resolved and requested no further assistance, police said. Officers around two hours later were summoned to the same location on the report of possible gunfire, police said. Three suspects in a silver sedan pulled up to man in his 20s who was standing outside his tent, and then one suspect pointed a gun at the man as two others exited the vehicle and approached the man, police said. One of the suspects fired a bullet at the man when he tried to run away but missed him according to police. On Friday, officers at around 1:30 a.m. responded to the 1800 block of 63rd Street on a report of gunfire, police said. When officers arrived, they learned that a theft occurred at a nearby Oakland residence, and that a resident followed the suspects as they drove away from the scene, police said. When the suspects reached the area of Adeline and Alcatraz avenues, the suspects shot at the man who was following them in his own vehicle according to police. The man ended his pursuit of the suspects, who were last seen in a green sedan speeding southbound on Adeline Street, police said.
