MARIETTA, GA — Police identified the pedestrian who was struck by a car in Marietta on Sunday and left with life-threatening injuries, which police say he is expected to survive. Abraham Pelico-Perez, 35, walked in front of an oncoming car "for reasons unknown" outside the crosswalk on Powder Springs Road just before 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Marietta police spokesperson Officer Chuck McPhilamy said. He was hit by a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon with 26-year-old Victor Pedroza, of Marietta, behind the wheel. Pelico-Perez was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. McPhilamy said Monday Pelico-Perez is still unconscious but "is now in stable condition at the hospital." "We are told he is expected to survive his injuries," he said.
