Oyster Babies Early Childhood Centers is seeking enthusiastic, energetic educators for various full- & part-time positions in our year-round programs at OYSTER BABIES EAST in HUNTINGTON, LI. Full-Time Positions Available:* HEAD OF GROUP TEACHER: INFANTS/TODDLERS (preferably with Director qualifications)* ASSISTANT TEACHER: PRESCHOOL Part-Time Positions Available:* OPENING TEACHERS/ASSISTANTS* CLOSING TEACHERS/ASSISTANTS* ON-CALL SUBSTITUES OPERATING HOURS:MONDAYS -> FRIDAYS6:30 AM -> 6:30 PM ** We will SPONSOR QUALIFIED CANDIDATES to take CDA**(Details to be discussed) The HEAD OF GROUP TEACHER (formerly known as Lead Teacher) will be responsible for the:• Daily supervision of the children & classroom;• Accommodating individual schedules and needs;• Facilitating age-appropriate activities. Qualified HEAD OF GROUP TEACHER applicants must have:• Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field; and,• At least one (1) year experience related to caring for infants and toddlers.- OR -• Infants and Toddler Child Care and Education credential; or, Infants Toddler Child Development Associate credential; or, other Office-recognized credential specific to the infant/toddler developmental period; and,• Two (2) years experience related to caring for infants and toddlers.- OR -• Child Development Associate credential; and,• Two (2) years experience caring for children, one on which much be related to caring for infants or toddlers.- OR -• Nine (9) college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field with a plan of study leading to:o Infants and Toddler Child Care and Education credential; or,o Infant Toddler Development Associate credential; or,o Other Office-recognized credential specific to the infant/toddler developmental period; or,o Associate's Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field; AND,• Two (2) years experience related to caring for children, one of which must be related to working with infants and toddlers. • Familiarity with Bank Street/Montessori/Reggio Emilia methodology, a plus.• Local residency, preferable.• Director qualifications is optimum. The ASSISTANT TEACHER will assist the Head of Group Teacher in the day-to-day care of children, facilitation of activities, and general classroom maintenance. Qualified ASSISTANT TEACHER applicants must have:• High school diploma or equivalent; OR,• One (1) year experience working with children less than 13 years of age.• Familiarity with Bank Street/Montessori/Reggio Emilia methodology, a plus.• Local residency, preferable.
