General Purpose and Scope of Position: This Nutrition Formulation Chemist will direct lab activities for the development, and manufacture of value-added nutritional products and formulations. This role will partner with sales, operations, environmental and safety to resolve plant nutrition formulation challenges and determine the best formulation to meet specific needs. Key Skills and Abilities: Proven ability to lead, plan and execute projects on chemical formulations with cross-functional teams Demonstrated record of achievement for formulation testing and development Understanding of formulation and application technologies based on practical use of physical-chemical properties and methods BS in chemistry or a related field Minimum of 5 years of practical industrial experience Key Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making skills Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical and critical thinker Advocates safety culture at all times Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables: Work with plant nutrition agronomist on value-added nutrition formulations Laboratory testing activities pertaining to plant nutrition product development Design formulations for new value-added nutrition products Interface with operations on formulation processes and procedures for nutrition products Work with national agronomists and nutrition product managers to implement training for field staff. Participate in Product Development and Branded Products teams Act as a resource to operations on value-added nutrition production questions. Train value-added nutrition production employees Work with Environmental Health Services and Product Regulatory Departments on chemistry details of products, registrations, labels and SDS Provide forensic laboratory services to determine sources of product failure or quality issues Troubleshoot issues with products in field or storage at branches Meet with vendors to vet products or technology offerings Evaluate raw materials for supply chain managers Coordinate with Formulation Chemist on various projects Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner Minimal Travel required Compensation and Benefits: Competitive hourly wage (to be determined based on experience and other factors) Benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, Employee Assistance Program, vacation, sick time, life insurance, + more); Pension Plan, 401k match up to 3% Drug-Free Workplace Interested in this position?
