Galt Foundation has a Great opportunity now!! Immediately hiring! Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm Purpose of program: This position may be used in the inspection of products for fresh shipment or products for processing and maybe used as an entry level for personnel being trained for the Shipping Point Inspector 1 position. The Laborer selects representative samples of produce, sorts produce into various sizes, grades and/or categories, removes rocks and clods from samples; loads grading tables, returns samples following inspection or runs pertinent tests in the grading process of various products. May operate equipment such as lift-truck, conveyors, or other equipment. Duties of position: • Selects a representative sample of produce to be inspected from a standard carrier or storage area. Carries sample to grading area and dumps sample on grading table or conveyor belt. • Disposes of graded samples. • Returns samples after they have been inspected and cleans up the inspection area and repairs and stores equipment. • May operate equipment such as lift-truck, conveyors, or other equipment. May precedes inspector to inspection point to set up necessary equipment and/or procure samples for inspection. • Performs other duties as required in assisting inspection staff. Working Conditions: Frequently exposed to warm or cold temperatures and a wet and noisy work environment. Workstation may be in close proximity to machinery and equipment and other potentially hazardous equipment. Other conditions: long hours as needed; field conditions with exposure to weather. Working long hours as dictated by workload (seasonally), frequent lifting of objects 50-60 lbs., infrequently lifting objects up to 100 lbs.
