The historic Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is currently searching for a conscientious, professional, and skilled individual to join its maintenance team. Job responsibilities include custodial, light construction, historic restoration, and grounds maintenance. Applicants should possess general construction skills and experience in the use of hand and power tools. Professional experience in the construction trades, cabinetry work, or historic preservation and restoration is preferred. Applicants must be capable of performing manual labor under various weather conditions.
Due to the nature of the position, applicants must be in good physical condition and able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time, climb a ladder up to 16 feet, ascend 9 flights of stairs on multiple occasions throughout the day, and lift objects in excess of 50 pounds with proper safety equipment. Applicants must be available for opening and closing shifts, Sunday through Saturday (including some holidays). All applicants must pass a national criminal background check to be eligible for employment at the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and Museum.
The ideal candidate possesses a "can-do", team-oriented attitude. Attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and personal initiative are a few of the qualities that we are looking for in a new employee.
This is a part-time position with a typical work schedule of 3-4 days (24-32 hours) per week.
