Meet Ship! Ship is a female, mixed breed puppy looking for a second shot at this whole “furever home” thing! I can’t say enough good things about this girl, but here‘s what I think you should know: • This girl is ACTIVE and excited to go on adventures! She’ll do great with an active family looking for a dog that can match their pace! • She ❤️‘s to learn. No new trick, command or challenge is too much for her. If there’s a treat or a ball involved, she’s game. • Consider her part retriever! You throw it, she’ll bring it back. Stuffed toys, rubber balls, chew toys, tug ropes and frisbees are all free game. • Great in a crate! Chew toy trained, content to gnaw away on a Nylabone while you head to the store or, even better, while you sleep! Ship is sleeping through the night in her crate (which any previous puppy owner knows is a gift). • Ship is dog friendly, and VERY excited! Like any puppy, she’ll need continued socialization around dogs and should only be able to play with good play matches (AKA, dogs as excited as she is)! • Ship is a little too excited about cats to be off leash around them, but redirects from my cats with a quick “Ah-Ah!” She is by no means obsessive or aggressive, and this behavior will become a non problem with continued training. • Ship is great with people! Puppies this age NEED socialization, and that isn’t just with dogs! We’ve done great socialization exercises when we’ve had guests over, and that will need to continue when she goes to her new home. We have not had her around children. • Like most puppies, Ship wants to be part of the conversation! She’ll need continued work on not jumping up on people. Ship has been working on the foundations of these commands: Sit, Come, Down, Spin Left, Spin Right, Touch (get on your bed or training mat), Hand (Luring work, follow my hand with your nose), Leave it (impulse control, don’t take food from my hand without permission). Potty training and crate training could not be going better for a puppy this age. She’s smart, she’s goofy, she’s adorable, and she is eager to please! She will be going home with over 20 hours of training and socialization work. Please let me know if you’re interested in this sweet girl.
