FOR DA: KRASNER OR VEGA?

FOR DA: KRASNER OR VEGA? When I first heard that Carlos Vega was attempting to supplant Larry Krasner, I was overjoyed. Finally, I thought, the criminals are not going to get coddled! Victims will finally matter! However, upon closer examination, I find that Carlos Vega had attempted to prevent mitigating DNA evidence from exonerating Anthony Wright from a murder conviction. Wright had served 19 years in prison before, finally, the truth forced the 'winning is everything' mentality of Vega and others to be conquered and trashed. He was released from prison in 2016. There is something more than disturbing about this 'get tough on crime' mentality when it deems 'winning at all costs' to be more important than the implementation of true justice. Police who adopt this mentality, along with their obedient retinue of DAs, nationwide, transform themselves into utter garbage by spitting upon their respective Oaths. And there is something yet more disturbing about these power mongers from even wanting to see the truth if it stands in the way of their naked desire 'to win'. Instead, these jerks will castigate people like David Lyga and hold onto their collective hatred for my kind of sensible and fair reasoning. (Those reading this who already can see, and appropriately address both sides, are to be congratulated.) Seeking truth and justice are not bywords geared to appease the Sunday church-going crowd. Instead, such truth seeking demonstrates one's true merit in this world. To downplay that mindset sorrowfully presents us with another form of mental bearing... one which forces an objective observer to see a manifestation of true, unmitigated greed... badge or no badge. Larry Krasner has been a disaster. Carlos Vega is potentially a disaster. I want Vega 'to come clean' and admit what he did, without presenting self-exonerating excuses (which will be upheld by corrupt police). Supporting law enforcement is his bailiwick. But such support means that the filth, first, has to be washed away. Otherwise, we have yet another chapter in this City's reiteration of history, as was stated so succinctly by journalist Lincoln Steffens, over 100 years ago, when he appropriately said: "Philadelphia is corrupt and content." Not to see the merit of what I have imparted here invites yet more cowardice to manifest. Are police so lacking in that requisite inner strength? Guns and badges do not make a man. - David Lyga David Lyga 23 South 21st Street APT A Philadelphia, PA 19103 mobile: 215.eight two zero.1560
