Olympic Home Modification is looking for a dependable Construction Laborer. You will be assigned tasks under the direction of an OHM Licensed Elevator Mechanic. A successful candidate will be a hard worker, with excellent integrity, is team focused, and has a positive attitude. Construction Laborer Job Duties and Responsibilities This position will include a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to: Cleaning and preparing construction sites. Loading and unloading materials and equipment. Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures. Digging trenches, compacting earth and back-filling holes. Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment Preventative maintenance and repair work on elevators and similar people-moving machinery. Install various components of the elevator system. Respond to calls about malfunctioning equipment. Assist in troubleshooting the machinery until the problem can be diagnosed and solved. Check wiring and parts for signs of wear. Replace parts as needed. Oil gears and test electrical systems to make sure the elevator unit is running efficiently. Requirements and Qualifications: Reliable transportation. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record. Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks. Ability to work in all weather. Must be punctual and reliable. Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry. Electrical experience desired but not required. Good oral and written communication skills. Be a team player. Must be 18 years or older. Education and Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent REQUIRED. Have a minimum 3 years of experience in construction, modernization, or service/repair of elevators. Physical Requirements: Travel throughout Washington State. Overnight stays (company paid) up to 3 days per week. Heavy lifting – 100 lbs.
