Do you love outdoor adventure right in the middle of Los Angeles? We are looking for fit, hardworking people to join us as a kayak guide on the LA River. LA River Kayak Safari has led the way in urban kayaking in Los Angeles. As long term Frogtown residents with a riverfront kayak location, we run high quality tours that combine river lore, ecological education and fun mild whitewater. Search the web about us from the Wall Street Journal to LA Times to local press to learn more... Communication skills are key. Best if you have a kayak experience but we have found some inexperienced paddlers make fast progress and can guide in no time. It really depends on you. Fitness is important. Hours are not long but can be intense. We run from (June- end of September) Candidate must attend Swift Water Rescue training out of town May 18-21. We pay for the training, hotel, and transport. Skills required: - communication skills - must know how to ride a bike - CPR cert. (we can link you to a good course that you will take care of yourself) - -its a plus if you know how to drive a shift stick vehicle.
