Equine surgical and sports medicine practice in north Phoenix is seeking qualified individuals for a Veterinary Technician position. Applicants should have a solid background working with horses and show a sincere interest in equine veterinary medicine. Licensed technician is preferred but not mandatory. Job duties include, but are not limited to, pre-operative preparation of surgical cases, coordinate post-operative management with surgeon and support staff, daily restocking of medication, supply areas, and surgery suites, maintain surgery and recovery room cleanliness, maintain, accurate record taking, underwater treadmill, and assist with general hospital duties. Other job duties will include, but are not limited to, patient restraint, assisting with lameness exams, aseptic preparation of patients, processing blood work, monitoring and treating patients per doctor’s orders, assistance with image acquisition, assist with inventory, and maintain a clean working environment. The appropriate candidate must work well with others, have a positive attitude, show proficiency while training on the job, and attentive to detail.
