Description

Join us for a guided tour of the Pier 26 Tide Deck for an immersive river ecology experience! The design for HRPK’s Pier 26 is inspired by the Manhattan shoreline that would have existed prior to Henry Hudson’s 1609 expedition. The pier includes a series of ecological communities representing this native landscape, including from a woodland forest to the rocky tidal zone and the Hudson River itself. One of the most unique of these native coastal environments is the Tide Deck, a manufactured rocky tidal marsh located on the western end of the Pier. The Tide Deck and its marsh plants ebb and flood with our daily tidal cycle, and features many interesting habitat enhancements including tide pools. We are excited to offer a few in-person and socially-distant tours on the Tide Deck walkway to wrap up our programming season. Join our River Project staff to learn more about this special environment during Tide Deck Tours. Space is limited, so we encourage you to sign up today. Visit HRPKPier26.org for more information about Pier 26 and the Tide Deck. Please note that COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place for this event. Tours require pre-registration, with timed entry, and face masks are required. One ticket is valid for up to five people; everyone must be from the same household.
