NEEDHAM, MA — All Massachusetts residents over age 16 have been eligible for the vaccine for three weeks now, and the first two weeks of data have been released by the state. Over 50 percent of Needham residents as a whole are fully vaccinated, leading the state vaccination rate by more than 10 percentage points. Roughly 2.77 million people have been full vaccinated in Massachusetts, the state reported Thursday—that's roughly 40 percent. Sixteen percent of Needham residents under the age of 30 have received both doses of the vaccine. More than 96 percent of Needham's oldest residents — people over the age of 75 — have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the state's data. Twenty percent of the town's residents have received just the first dose. Needham reported 25 cases of coronavirus in the two weeks leading up to May 4 according to the state report released Thursday, placing it in the "green" zone.
