NATICK, MA — Just a few weeks ago, Massachusetts was in the throes of a coronavirus vaccine shortage. Now, there are enough shots for anyone who wants one.
The vaccine supersite at the Natick Mall on Monday began offering walk-in appointments. The Natick supersite, like other across the state, had been appointment-only up until now.
Many vaccine sites are offering walk-in appointments because so many people across the state are fully vaccinated. About 3 million people were fully vaccinated as of Sunday, according to state records, which is more than 42 percent of the total population.
Anyone in Massachusetts over 18 is now eligible to get a coronavirus vaccine (people age 16 and 17 can get the Pfizer version of the shot). The Natick Mall site offers the Moderna vaccine, and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
