Man Who Died After Found Floating Off In Water Identified

CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater Police have identified a man found floating on the north part of Clearwater Beach Sunday night as 60-year-old Douglas Wright of Clearwater. Clearwater Fire & Rescue and police were called shortly after 6 p.m. to the 1000 block of Eldorado Avenue where a man was found floating in the water off the beach. He was brought ashore and fire medics administered CPR. He was then taken to Morton Plant Hospital where he died. Police are still investigating the cause of death.
